Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Computer Science provides students with any undergraduate degree and some programming/maths experience with the equivalent of a major in Computer Science.

The course will augment students’ existing knowledge with considerable technical expertise in computer science, including exposure to a variety of programming paradigms, an understanding of the systematic processes underpinning the software development lifecycle, and an appreciation of advanced topics in computing.

The course provides a pathway to the Master of Computer Science for high achieving students.

Students will complete between one and three core subjects, with the electives making up a total of four subjects.

Career Outcomes

To continue to study advanced computer science, and complete a research project, progress to the Master of Computer Science.

Graduate research

If you complete a masters course with a significant research component, you can go on to study a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy), or another graduate research program.

This will set you up for a rewarding career in research with a university, research institute or technology company.
