Overview

A Diploma of Business Information Systems builds your ability to translate technical knowledge into business insights. Learn to apply fundamental information system principles across various contexts. Choose from our electives to tailor your diploma to your career goals.

The course is made up of six core subjects and two elective subjects. Successful completion of the Business Information Systems diploma will guarantee entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Business Information Systems.

Course Structure

This course comprises of 8 subjects, which includes 6 core subjects and 2 elective subjects. Each subject involves 10 hours of study per week, comprising 3 hours of facilitated study and 7 hours self-directed study.

 

These six core subjects must be completed. Additionally, you’re required to select two 100 level electives from the electives tab.

Career Outcomes

You will graduate with the technical and creative skills to make effective ICT business decisions in a global context. In addition, you’ll have the leadership and team-building skills to operate and manage information systems in dynamic 21st-century organisations. This course also teaches project management skills, requirements management and applications of micro-services, and how technological changes impact on contemporary businesses. You'll also have the opportunity to move into a Bachelor of Information Systems and pursue postgraduate study with a Graduate Diploma of Business Information Systems and Master of Business Information Systems.
