The Graduate Certificate in Optometry is designed to provide you with knowledge and clinical skills in vision science. This degree has been designed with a variety of teaching methods and intends to appeal to new and established practitioners who hold an undergraduate degree in optometry.

Career Outcomes

On completion, you will have the knowledge and skills to meet the growing demands of this area of healthcare. The program provides a foundation for career progression in clinical practice and is a pathway into research opportunities. The degree doesn't provide clinical training for registration to practise as an optometrist in Australia.

The minimum requirement is the equivalent of a three-year AQF level 7 bachelor's degree in optometry with a credit average. Students with an average between 50 and 65 will be considered for a

IELTS: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE - Academic): 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 176 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 180 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
