Overview

If you want to attain a qualification in computing but have little or no background in this area, the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology is designed for you. It also suits those with a bachelor degree in a relevant discipline who want a broader understanding of computing, or students with a bachelor degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering who wants to specialise further.

This program provides a broad-based IT education and more specialised knowledge in up to two major areas, providing core skills to enable you to work in a range of positions in the IT industry. It’s similar in scope to the Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) undergraduate degree.

Course Structure

The Graduate Diploma of Information Technology is a 1.7-year program designed for students who want to obtain an IT qualification. The program is open to students with little to no background in computing. The aim of this program is to provide students with a broad-based IT education through a range of core courses.

The Graduate Diploma in Information Technology is a 1.7-year program where you’ll study a variety of core and elective units delivered in a face to face and blended mode.

You’ll also complete three advanced disciplinary knowledge courses where you’ll learn the technical knowledge and skills, while updating your knowledge in cutting-edge areas of Information Technology.  

Through your selection of electives and advanced disciplinary knowledge courses you can gain specialised knowledge in up to two areas, enabling you to work in a range of positions in the Information Technology industry.

IELTS: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE - Academic): 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 176 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 180 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
