Overview

Do you wish to undertake a research degree in musculoskeletal injuries? A Master of Health Sciences at The University of Notre Dame Australia is a research degree culminates in an examination by thesis. Over the course of your studies, you will explore the importance of early intervention to avoid costly medical treatment and the rehabilitation of those with chronic conditions and musculoskeletal injuries. Why study this degree?

Candidates in the Master’s by Research program can undertake their research in either a full-time or a part-time capacity. The maximum time for completion of the Master’s by Research (not including periods of approved leave of absence) will normally be two years for a full-time student and four years for a part-time student. The minimum time for completion will normally be one year. The Master’s thesis is assessed by external examiners

Each candidate is required to have a minimum of two supervisors who will mentor and direct the candidate throughout the research phase and up to the point the thesis is put forward for examination. Before submitting an application, students are encouraged to contact the School of Health Sciences to arrange a discussion with a suitably qualified member of staff.

Course Structure

The Master’s by Research is a thesis-based research degree, normally comprised exclusively of supervised research, but which can include research training coursework if appropriate.

IELTS (Academic) - 6.5 overall, with no writing score lower than 6.5 and no other individual band score lower than 6.0

CAE/CPE - 176 overall, with no score lower than 176 in writing and no other band score lower than 169

PTE Academic - 58 overall, with no score lower than 58 in writing and no other band score lower than 50

TOEFL (iBT) - 84 overall, with no score lower than 22 in writing and no other band score lower than 17.
