Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing offers an opportunity to acquire advanced nursing expertise and abilities grounded in contemporary national and international evidence, tailored for novice registered nurses. This program empowers participants to apply acquired knowledge and skills effectively within their respective clinical environments.
Designed for individuals seeking to bolster their proficiency, confidence, and nursing aptitude in clinical settings, this innovative course follows a discipline-based approach. It comprises two core units—Patient Deterioration and Clinical Governance—and two additional units from your selected major, with options including Generalist or Gerontology.
Participants will acquire advanced nursing knowledge and skills rooted in current national and international evidence pertinent to novice registered nurses, and they will apply these skills within their clinical settings. The integration of online delivery with group discussions, utilization of contemporary international and national research, and evaluation of care standards in clinical settings will enrich learning experiences and foster the development of essential clinical competencies required in professional practice. The program also provides opportunities to enhance professional nursing attributes, including autonomy, accountability, and critical reflection.
Upon successful completion, participants can seamlessly transition into our Master of Clinical Nursing program.

Course Structure
Course Structure:
This program is composed of two core units and two units from your selected major: Gerontology or Generalist nursing.
Graduate Pathways:
For students entering the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing via Pathway 1, completion of two core units is required. Alternatively, for those entering via Pathway 2, all four units must be completed.
Pathway 1 (Graduate Program with Recognised Health Services):
- Gerontology Major: Students enrolled in the Partnered Graduate Program Pathway pursuing the Gerontology Major must refrain from enrolling in NURS20170 - Patient Deterioration in the Clinical Setting and NURS20169 - Nursing and Clinical Governance. Credit for these units may be granted upon the completion of the two gerontology major units (DCHA20003, HAGE20001) and the industry Partnered Graduate Program.
- Generalist Major: Students enrolled in the Partnered Graduate Program Pathway pursuing the Generalist Major must abstain from enrolling in NURS20171 - Nursing and Professional Practice 1 and NURS20172 - Introduction to Developing Specialty Practice. Credit for these units may be granted upon the completion of NURS20170, NURS20169, and the industry Partnered Graduate Program.
Pathway 2 - Standard Course Structure:
For students following the standard course structure, completion of two core units and two units from the chosen major (Gerontology or Generalist nursing) is mandatory.

To be eligible for entry to this course, a student will be required to demonstrate A completed bachelor degree in any discipline from an Australian university or college, or equivalent; or A

PTE Academic - Overall 62 (with no score less than 54)
